Construction

The gun safe 6030 is built with 1/4" steel in the door and 1/8" steel in the rest of the body. All sides include 2 UL-recommended 5/8" layers of sheetrock-like fire-retardant material. The great feature about this model is that it has a filled door: unlike many cheaper gun safes which present the fire retardant layer behind the boltwork, this safe has the fire retardant layer at the front of the door just like our more advanced jewelry safes.

Protection

The locking mechanism is protected by a state of the art steel hard plate that effectively negates attempts to access the safe by punching out or drilling the lock.

All of our MS Fire Gun Safes Feature:

1-hr fire rated (at 1750 degrees)
5 3-way active 1" locking bolts and 3 1" deadbolts on the hinge side
1/4" steel (3 gauge) in door, 1/8" (10 gauge) steel on all other sides
Two 5/8" UL-recommended fire-retardant material on all sides
Fire retardand layer is filled in the front of the door instead of attached behind the boltwork
Combination lock standard
Optional electronic lock available and recommended
Tri-spoke style diecast handle
Adjustable shelves and gun racking (Extra shelves available at an additional cost)
Carpeted interior. Carpet is dark grey
Two bolt down holes 1/2" in diameter pre-drilled in the steel at the bottom of the safe (fire retardant layer is not pre-drilled to maintain fire protection for those customers who do not wish to bolt down the safe)
Removable steel platform for shipping, stacking, and moving is not included. Shipping platform is attached via bolts that can be undone. Shipper might choose to remove the platform and ship the safe on a pallet. If you want to receive the platform, please request upon placing your order.
Safe is made in China. LaGard locks are made in the U.S.A.

Style Options

The MS-6030 comes in the standard Gun Racking model (shown) and the "Shelves only" 4-shelf model (4 long shelves with no center partition).

Color Options

There are two great color options to choose from: Dark Green (DN - shown) and Black(BK). - Color availability may be limited.

Lock Options

The preferred lock option is the LG Basic II electronic lock. Mechanical Dial and Key-Locking-Dial locks are available too. See our FAQ's for more information on entry devices.

Answers to Not-So-Frequently-Asked Questions and Statements

Q: Can handguns be hung on the walls?
A: There is nothing in the interior designed for that purpose, however I am sure that customers can find a creative solution to that.
Q: Your web site said that Door Delivery means Installation.
A: No, it doesn't say that. Door Delivery is provided by the freight company and will not include taking the safe past a) the front door if there are no steps leading to it; b) the area in front of the first step encountered; or c) the garage. If you need to have the safe moved past those points you must pay for installation service. This will be quoted by a third party. When you place the order you can select to have the freight shipped to a terminal or to a business c/o safe installer. We will be able to make a recommendation for a safe installer in your area.
Q: I don't need installation but the safe needs to go in the closet upstairs.
A: That is an example of installation.
Q: Where is Direct Safes located?
A: Direct Safes is located in San Jose, CA.
Q: How many bolt locking mechanisms are on this safe? Are the mechanisms cam-drive?
A: The number of locking bolts is mentioned in the description and may vary over time. No, the boltwork is a machined gear system that smoothly opens or closes door locking bolts.
Q: On residental delivery is safe delivered to the street,or put on driveway?
A: The responsibility of the trucking company is to deliver it to the curb. This means that it is delivered to the street, not the driveway. It is at the discretion of the trucking company to deliver to the driveway. Please remember that if you need the product lowered to the ground you also need to order liftgate delivery service.
Q: Does the key locking dial mechanical combination lock include the ability to change the combination?
A: Mechanical locks can be changed by the user. However, due to a high number of users who try to do it and then cannot figure out what combination numbers they have set we have asked that the warehouse set numbers for our customers. If you are in that situation, please hire a local locksmith.
Q: Do you offer a mechanical combination lock mechanism like the Lagard 3370?
A: That is the lock that the manufacturer normally installs. However, the safe manufacturer occasionally installs locks from different lock manufacturers. If you order a mechanical and have to request the LaGard 3370 please email us with your order number. If the lock is not in stock this request may delay your ship date.
Q: Is the black paint finish gloss or textured?
A: The pain finish is semi gloss.
Q: How much is delivery to...?
A: Add the product to the shopping cart and get the quote with the accessorial that you need. Make sure to click on "Save Shopping Cart" every time you make any changes. Alaska and Hawaii customers please request a quote.
Q: How much extra for liftgate service?
A: The shopping cart will be able to provide that information. It varies from $0 to $105.
Q: Do you have a close up photo of the interior carpet?
A: Not at this time, however we realize that it could be useful so we might in the future.
Q: Does this safe meet the California Penal Code section 12088 and its regulations?
A: Yes.
