During the fifteen years I have been selling UL rated safes to jewelers I have heard
time and again how crucial it is for a jeweler to make sure that money is invested in
jewelry, not safes or something else that will never make a dime. This is why I am in
business: to sell jewelry safes at the lowest delivered price.
My approach has saved hundreds of dollars to hundreds of customers who understand that
a rated safe is a rated safe and going to the source can really save a lot of money. But
there is a problem: as more jewelers are buying from me I cannot keep the safes in stock.
Long gone are the days when I would have tens of these in stock: a TL rated safe in stock is
now a rarity and I am forced to encourage you to preorder from the containers that
are on the water or about to leave the factories.
A new way to save on jeweler safes
I know that most jewelers only decide to get a safe the week before they
need it. So here are two incentives for everyone who can buy ahead of time:
You will not be charged until the safe ships, and
You will get a 10% discount on anything that is not in stock.
At present I am preselling:
1 JV-6836 for December delivery
Call me at 949-480-2384. Please remember that shipping and installation is not included
in the prices shown on the web site.
I will be able to give you an installed price as soon as you tell me where the safe is
going.
Categories of Jewelry Safes
Most of you know the information below better than I do, but for those jewelers who are
buying one of their first UL rated safes here is some useful information.
This classification is a sort of "entry level"
for jewelers, or a cheap way to get just a little additional coverage and some
secure space for "work-in-progress". Many jewelers use a TL-15 for their personal
items at home. Underwriters Laboratories (UL) tests this type of safe in its labs
for 15-minute attacks on the door (walls are tested for 7 or 8 minutes).
This classification is very common for
small stores or stores that are not heavily involved in diamonds. This is the most
common classification for jewelry safes. If you have weight limitations,
see the light weight TL-30 safes. UL tests the
door for 30-minute attacks on the door (walls are tested for 15 minutes).
As the need to protect more inventory arises,
jewelers turn to higher classifications. The TL-30x6 rating is the same as the
TL-30, except the walls are also tested for 30 minutes.
Please do not use the insurance guidelines above against anyone. Contact your insurance
company and follow their recommendations. Actual coverage varies depending on many factors.
